Southern Arizona Cat Rescue (SACR) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization. We're a foster based rescue with fosters throughout Tucson, Oro Valley & Sahuarita. Being foster based means we do not have a physical location to visit. With more than a dozen founding members, we are a unique crew of animal lovers from all walks of life. We are dedicated to saving the lives of Southern Arizona's at-risk cat population. With 80% of kittens born outside each year, we strive to save all those in need and ensure mother cats are never left behind through the practice of TNR (Trap Neuter Return).

Where do the kitties available for adoption come from?

All of our kittens and cats come from rescue situations, never bred for adoption. This means they either come from the streets as strays, owner surrenders (their owner could no longer care for them), or for the most part they are at our local shelters. The main shelters we “pull” cats from are Pima Animal Care Center and Pinal County Animal Care and Control.

I would really like to foster what does that entail?

We have an amazing group of fosters and we love them all so much! Fosters range from early 20’s to 50+ years old. Every foster has a different reason they joined us and we have all become friends despite being from different generations and walks of life. SACR provides all necessary supplies (and some unnecessary/fun when donated), all medical visits/costs, and we support you every step of the way. We also have a Facebook group just for fosters so you can connect with others, ask for advice, and share photos! Want to know more? Apply below or email our foster team at fostercare@sacatrescue.org

I would love to donate some supplies, what are your most needed items?

Wet food! These kitties are little piggies! Because most of our fosters focus on taking in mothers and their babies or orphaned kittens, we go through wet kitten food like its water. We love any and all brands, however we prefer NOT to feed grain free. View our Amazon wishlist here!
