Surrendering

 At this time, we are not accepting owner surrenders.  (see info/resources below)

We are accepting stray surrenders if we have the capacity. Please note that we cannot guarantee that we have space for every cat and kitten we get pleas for. 

If you adopted the cat/kitten from SACR, we will always take back our former kitties. 

Please email our Intake Coordinator at intake@sacatrescue.org if you need to return a former SACR cat/kitten.

If you have a female cat who you own and want to keep, but she had kittens and you need help with their placement and getting mama fixed, please email us and we can see if we can help!

 Please fill out the form below with all of the information that you can. We cannot guarantee that we will have space for the kitties needing help, but we will try. In the meantime, please contact the other organizations listed in the application to enhance your placement chances quicker. This does include local Facebook Lost and Found Groups as there are many kind Samaritans within who can help trap/catch or temporarily hold them.

As a rescue at this time, we are choosing to focus on our local shelters and strays. We are not doing this because we do not care or are mean. We would absolutely love to help every single kitty that needs help. However, we need to put a focus on those who are at risk of euthanasia/dying, do not have appropriate care/shelter/food, are orphaned/abandoned, and yet still deserve a chance at a loving home. This also helps free up spaces for shelters to take in more.

When you own a pet, you are responsible for their care and well-being when you agree to take them in as your own. We understand life can change and frustrations can occur, but please know there are many options to try to keep you and your pet(s) together that do work. 

If you absolutely need to re-home, please first try family/friends. We also understand taking in pets from a family member or friend unexpectedly, but there are outlets for help with this.

Peeing behaviors? New baby? Struggling with finances/vet care? Please see resources below to try to resolve these issues to try to keep your cat/kitten.  

If all outlets have been exhausted, see other organizations to try below.

We can help many locations when we have the capacity, but if you're in Phoenix or a surrounding area, we recommend posting your plea for help in Facebook groups called Kitten Rescue AZ and Arizona Kitten and Cat Rescue. Many resources/organizations are in the group and will get tagged or contact you to potentially help.
